VALENCIA EXCURSIONS
We adapt all our excursions to the wishes and needs of our clients.
Here are some ideas for excursions in Valencia:
Walk through the historic center
Walk through the historic center along the most important monuments of the city, including: the train station, the Town Hall square, the Central Market, the Lonja, the old silk fair, Plaza Redonda, the Cathedral, Plaza de la Virgen , the exterior of the Basilica and the Palace of the Generalitat, the Serranos towers, etc ... Along the way there is, of course, time for a coffee stop. This can be done on one of the terraces or in a traditional horchatería where you can taste the local drink, horchata. Depending on the interest of the group, it is also possible to include a visit to one of the many museums in this tour for example. The National Museum of Ceramics, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Modern Art, Patriarca Museum, etc.
City of arts and sciences
Visit the unique architectural complex where art, culture and science come together. Designed by the architect Santiago Calatrava and built on the old Turia riverbed.
- Umbracle: sculpture and botanical garden covered by an iron construction that serves as a pergola.
- Palace of the Arts: Opera
- Hemispheric: Imax Theater and planetarium in the shape of an eye.
- Museum of Sciences: interactive museum.
- Oceanografic: one of the largest marine aquariums in Europe with fish and animals from all seas and oceans: the Mediterranean, wetlands, tropical oceans, Patagonia, the north and south poles and the oceans.
Modern architecture route
Guided tour of the most outstanding buildings and projects designed by renowned contemporary architects: Congress Building -Norman Foster; bridges over the old riverbed - Santiago Calatrava, IVAM (Museum of Modern Art), Concert Hall -García Paredes and the City of Arts and Sciences - Santiago Calatrava. During this tour we see the buildings from the outside with the exception of the ground floor of the Science Museum in the City of Arts and Sciences. Due to the distances between the different buildings, a bus is necessary. The section of the "Calatrava" bridge / metro station to the City of Arts and Sciences can be done on foot: it is a pleasant walk through a part of the old riverbed. Furthermore, it is possible to organize a private tour of the Palau de les Arts (Opera). There is also the possibility, for example, of adding a cocktail with a private concert (piano + voice).
La Albufera & Fallero Museum & Port
Upon arrival at the Albufera nature reserve (10 km south of Valencia) we take a boat trip across the lake. This boat trip ends in a barrack to visit this traditional houses.
You can combine a visit to the Albufera with a visit to the Fallero Museum (museum about one of the largest festivals in Spain) and / or with a visit to the Port of Valencia and / or with a typical lunch in one of the barracks of La Albufera.
